What are Products

Products are the one of the most important features of any store. A product can be almost anyting, it is something you want to sell.

On our marketplace, there are two types of products.

Owned by you

Only you  (and marketplace administration) may edit them.

Owned by the marketplace - shared with other sellers

- Most of the features are fixed

Products are the most important feature of any store. A product is anything you sell. If it is farming related you can sell it on The Farmers Lot, it can be 

• a service e.g. shearing or butchering
• livestock e.g. goats, ducks, pigs etc
• produce e.g. hay, fruit etc
• groceries e.g. chutney, jam, pickles etc
• accessories e.g. posts, droppers, wire, water troughs etc
• tools e.g. dropper knocker, wire cutters etc
• machinery e.g. tractors, incubators, pumps etc

Managing your products is important, you need to 

• Manage your inventoryso that you don't sell what you don't have
• Add and edit products
• Manage orders
• Create pages featuring or reviewing your products

Common Products

We use common products when many people are selling the same thing, it provides a fair and easy way.

Configuration

• You keep one shared “master” product (name, images, features/specs, SEO, etc.).

• Multiple sellers (you) can create your own offer for that same master product (your price, stock, shipping settings, etc.), so customers can compare offers.

Rule

Where a common product is on the marketplace you must use it, or obtain a written exmpession from the marketplace owner.
